The objective of this document is to express the qualifications and unique experience for a position in product development, business development, or a similar career. Focus points during employment will be product design, implementation planning, market research, expense projections, costs reduction, forming business relations, and attracting and retaining customers.
Qualifications come from a business mind and a deep background in the software and internet industries. Six years of leading edge software development shows an ability to learn and adapt to new trends and techniques. Projects have required advanced knowledge of HTML, Javascript, Ajax, various backend programming languages, relational database design, and server administration.
Business experience comes from three years of employment at Name Intelligence, Inc. as a Product Manager and the formation and operation of Western Leap, LLC. An established track record of effective business planning, building business relationships, product innovation, and aggressively pursuing business growth.
Filed a limited liability company business license with city of Seattle, the state of Washington, and the U.S. Internal Revenue Service. The license was used to explore an investment management idea.
Employment ads were written to recruited employees to write a business plan and to help research information for the plan. Resumes were reviewed, applicants interviewed, and hired.
Business bank accounts were setup and seed capitol was managed. Employee salaries were budgeted, checks were written to pay employees, and expenses were tracked for taxes.
Several business relationships were formed to leverage knowledge and experience from experts in varying fields. Information and advise from experts was used in business planning.
Researched and developed a sixty page business plan in collaboration with writers. The plan outlined three year staffing requirements, expense projections, start up costs, product descriptions, operations, market segments, marketing strategy, and analyzed competitors.
Negotiated feasibility, pricing, and terms of new APIs with partners. Knowledge of technology, development costs, and the business mission was used to decide which products where developed and offered. Offered custom products and advise to FBI and lawyers for fraud and business research.
Analyzed current staffing needs based on company growth and current projects. Reviewed resumes and interviewed development team applicants to build a diversified and flexible team.
Guided software developers on product specifications, interface design, resolving technical issues, and software/database design. Scrum Project Management certified in February 2008 through Scrum Alliance.
Resolved elevated customer support issues and gathered product suggestions and feedback. Feedback was used to update products, improve interfaces, and add new features.
Set pricing on new and existing products to encourage account sign ups and membership upgrades. Specified the features and interface designs for DNS research tools like Registrant Search and Name Server Spy. New products and features were based on available data that the company collected.
Wrote all the marketing copy for Domain Tools services including Domain Typo, Reverse IP, and Hosting History. Effectively described technical and difficult to understand products to increased use and subscriptions to the site.
Helped rewrite the website Whois.sc to DomainTools.com in 2005 using PHP and MySQL on a load balanced multiple database server platform. Continued development and maintenance during three years of employment. Designed and wrote the billing system, current domain suggestion engine, Firefox plugins, Ajax interfaces, socket servers, and performed various Unix administration.
Designed the Domain Tools logo, page layout, and most various graphics on the site. Created the layout for the Domain Tools blog, flyers and handouts for the Domain Roundtable Conferences, and a full page back cover magazine ad in Domainer Magazine.
Developed a Flash and PHP/MySQL application which enables students to design all details of their letterman jackets including chenille colors, jacket type, jacket size, patches, and patch positions. Also developed was an administer interface to add new shoulder patches and to view orders.
Turned interactive training Flash movies into a Windows application that was distributed by Pierce County Health Department on CDs. To protect from piracy serial numbers were verified through the internet. Also created an administrator interface with PHP/MySQL to generate new serial numbers.
Updated content and maintained the website for this luxury lakeside hotel in Seattle, WA.
Developed the Flash photo album and a databased backend to upload new images to the gallery.
Helped developed website and updated content regularly throughout employment.
Updated content and maintained the Sorrento Hotel's website regularly while at Dot Blue Design.
Attended the PHP Security Conference with keynote Bruce Perens in June 2005. Attended the Canada on Rails conference April 2006 in Vancouver, BC with keynote speaker David Heinemeier Hansson.
